A Man from War

The character of the man returning from war, the archetype of this man, one who has spent so much of his life in hell, his adult life, that upon his return he is met with a choice (though most often this is not a choice, and he would more likely fall back upon his character, what remains of it anyway) of either taking his new self, so altered by combat and death, and giving that soldier to society, thereby affecting society, or by recognizing the inhumanity of war, allowing himself to be affected by civil society, to take the lessons society gives him, to stay quiet and listen, to allow the homefront to be his teacher, rather than him, its master.
