2020: A Post and a Retrospective
Hi all,
Our society is bullshit, it is killing the world, and it’s getting worse every day. (This line is the opener for every Sunday Soapbox speech.)
I would love to tell you that everything is fine. Unfortunately, that is not the case. We are steamrolling through, and on into, uncharted territory, that is increasingly looking like disasters of Biblical proportion.
Is there a way out of this? Yes. We can indeed avoid the “Great Filter”, but it requires doing things a bit differently. It even seems strange to say so here, as the digital world is a beast, and the efforts expended on it do not necessarily return. Feedback! My God, it comes much more so in the real world, talking to actual people, analogue. Keep this in mind, as what we see, hear, and feel, online and in the mainstream media, is not a proper reflection of reality.
This has been used against us. I have been ignored, ridiculed, slandered, censored, blacklisted, and sabotaged for years. And. So. Have. You.
The system of control that has pervaded our lives, indemnified through a tyranny of time, perpetuates madness, at this level where we must DO LESS. Nature herself, our very environment, demands so. And yet, what do we do? Every day, get up before the crack of dawn, get the kids off to school, drive an hour to an office where we do little of importance for eight+ hours. This “daily drive” can only lead us, as the scientists have explicitly stated, toward ultimate disaster.
The changes necessary to fix the issues, and to achieve our dreams, are minor, “trouble only temporary”, while the issues we experience, unchecked, will literally destroy our civilization. This is not a drill. This is not a test. We are destroying our biosphere. That which allows us to continue living on this Earth. Radical changes are necessary. But this does not mean our quality of life, on the whole, will reduce. In fact, these changes will be glorious, for the controlling mechanisms that our society enforces upon each of us, need no longer drive our lives. The 20th century, and the first two decades of the 21st, have been a “means to an end”. The end is here. “Work hard today, that you might rest tomorrow.” Well, guess what? Tomorrow is today.
We have astonishing means of communication, all across the planet. How ought they to be used? To prop up a broken, obsolete system, or to bring the new? To recycle the dominoes of hierarchical control, or to speak the Gospel?
We can do better. We must. And we will.
Resurrect your hope. Trust your neighbors, friends, and family. Do right, by hook or by crook, as good deeds are increasingly illegal. Resist moneyed deceptions. Our system, at present, rewards those who deceive and exploit. Simple fact. Don’t fall for it. You, a human being, have been exploited, whipped and driven, to work against your own interests. Calm your mind, shut out the pervasive propagandists, and let the constant mental chatter of self-deprivation, built up from centuries of slavery, wash across your mind as a breeze on the wind. You, and we, deserve dignity and respect. And we are going to get it.
The next step in planetary, human evolution is here. And you are going to love it.
